Temporary Accounting Assistant

Temp Accounting Assistant | $18-$20/hour Monday-Friday

A Sioux City area company is seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Accounting Assistant for a 3-to-4-month engagement to support our financial team through our upcoming annual internal audit. This role will focus on preparing audit documentation, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with internal controls.

• Gather, organize, and review financial records, schedules, and supporting documentation for internal and external auditors.
• Assist with general ledger entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Sample and verify transactions, expense reports, invoices, and receipts to ensure accuracy and policy compliance.
• Maintain audit files, track data requests, and communicate progress directly with the accounting team and audit leads.

• 1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or audit support experience.
• Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and familiarity with standard ERP/accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP, Net Suite).
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

• $18-$20/hr
• Paid every Friday
