Job Summary

KTIV is seeking a Weekend Anchor / MMJ to join our newscasts. The right person needs to be a great communicator on‑air and online. They are the newsroom leader on weekends, must have a great attitude, work well with others, and maintain strong relationships with the assignment desk and field reporters for a quality product. A strong on‑air conversational presentation is a must.

The role works three weekdays as an MMJ, produces and anchors the newscasts on weekends, and helps update the station website and social media.

Responsibilities
  • Developing and executing unique content daily, in collaboration with newsroom management.
  • This person must be creative, energetic, competitive, and a problem‑solver with strong communication and reporting skills.
  • The ideal candidate demonstrates compelling storytelling, photography, and videography skills that go beyond a press release.
  • Can quickly confirm and send out rapidly developing stories on air and online.
  • Strong on‑air delivery and speaking voice.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Excellent writing skills, news judgment and ethics.
  • Degree in Journalism or Communications.
  • Experience producing newscasts preferred.
  • Driven to produce enterprise organic news content.
  • Understands digital/new media platforms and strategy.
  • Smooth and effective delivery of content for live broadcast.
  • Strong work ethic, organizational and leadership skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Integrity, accountability, teamwork.
