Public Radio Station The Membership & Development Coordinator leads the station’s fundraising strategy with a focus on sustainable membership growth, on-air fund drives, underwriting revenue, and community engagement. This role develops compelling campaigns that connect listeners to the station’s mission while ensuring seamless execution, donor stewardship, and long-term revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities Fundraising Strategy & Revenue Growth
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with station goals.
  • Set revenue targets for membership, underwriting, and special campaigns.
  • Design annual development plans, including on-air drives, digital campaigns, events, and donor cultivation initiatives.
  • Analyze performance data to refine strategy and maximize return on investment.
Membership Program Leadership
  • Oversee all aspects of the membership program, including acquisition, retention, and upgrade strategies.
  • Strengthen membership relations through proactive communication and stewardship.
  • Develop targeted campaigns to grow sustaining memberships and mid-level giving.
On-Air Fund Drives
  • Plan and manage on-air fundraising drives, including:
    Drive themes and messaging, Daily scheduling and pacing, Challenge grants and matching campaigns, Premium selection and fulfillment.
  • Coordinate volunteers and on-air talent participation.
  • Collaborate with programming and news leadership to maintain broadcast quality during drives.
Marketing & Communications
  • Lead fundraising messaging across broadcast, digital, email, newsletter, and social platforms.
  • Develop clear, compelling case statements that communicate the station’s public service impact.
  • Oversee membership newsletters and donor communications.
  • Ensure consistent brand voice and mission alignment across campaigns.
Events & Community Engagement
  • Plan and coordinate fundraising and donor appreciation events.
  • Partner with station leadership to strengthen community visibility and donor relationships.
Underwriting & Business Support
  • Coordinate underwriting strategy in collaboration with station leadership and sales representatives.
  • Ensure underwriting messaging complies with non-commercial broadcast regulations.
  • Support business partnership growth aligned with the station’s mission.
Operations & Fulfillment
  • Oversee gift processing, premium fulfillment, database accuracy, and donor records.
  • Ensure timely acknowledgment and reporting.
  • Maintain efficient systems for campaign tracking and financial reconciliation.

This is a full-time, grade 7, administrative position with an annual wage of $54,874. Work schedule will include occasional evenings and weekends and travel to off-site locations. Benefits include health, dental, long-term disability and life insurance; retirement, tuition waiver; vacation, sick leave and holidays.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Management on a CRM or membership database.
  • Successful coordination of events and programs.
  • Fundraising and donor relationship building.
Physical Demands

The Membership and Development Coordinator must be able to meet with donors, supporters, and volunteers both in the office and in the community. They also must be able to manage events that will demand travel, light physical work, and social engagement.
