In this role, you will support providers in assessing and triaging patient needs, assist with treatment plans, and coordinate care for patients with a wide range of foot and ankle conditions. You will also provide patient and family education, helping individuals better understand their diagnoses, treatment options, and recovery plans. You’ll work closely with physicians and clinical staff in a collaborative, fast‑paced outpatient setting focused on restoring mobility, improving function, and enhancing quality of life for our patients.

- Evaluate incoming patient phone calls and messages to determine urgency of symptoms and appropriate next steps for foot and ankle conditions.
- Provide telephone triage and guide patients to the appropriate level of care or follow‑up, including urgent orthopedic concerns.
- Assist in coordinating urgent and routine care for patients with acute and chronic foot and ankle injuries or conditions (e.g., fractures, sprains, post‑operative concerns, infections).
- Communicate effectively with foot and ankle surgeons, providers, and clinical team members to ensure timely, coordinated patient care.
- Educate patients and caregivers on diagnoses, treatment plans, post‑operative care, and rehabilitation strategies to support optimal recovery.
- Provide ongoing patient support and resources tailored to individual recovery needs and mobility goals.
- Accurately document all patient interactions, assessments, and care plans in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Track patient outcomes and coordinate follow‑up appointments to ensure continuity of care and optimal healing progress.
- Licensure:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa. - Experience:
All levels of RN experience will be considered. Prior experience in foot and ankle or specialty care is a plus, but not required. - Education:
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required;
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. - Note:
