- Examine and assess acutely ill employees and determine urgency of care.
- Refer cases to company physician or personal physician where appropriate.
- Document patient information accurately and timely.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee medical records.
- Respond to emergency medical incidents anywhere in the facility.
- Implement company surveillance and safety programs.
- Work in single-nurse staffed clinic.
- Communicate appropriately with medical team and stakeholders.
- Engage in process improvement initiatives at the onsite clinic.
- Act as a consultant within the organization and to outside agencies.
- Stay up to date on client protocols and UPHaW processes.
- Function as clinician, educator, and resource for employees and client contacts.
- Conduct pulmonary function testing, drug testing, vision testing, hearing testing, immunization delivery, medication administration, spirometry testing, lab specimen preparation, blood draws or other patient specific clinical needs.
- Properly use office and medical equipment such as computers, spirometers, audiometers, fax machines, multi-stage copiers, telephones.
- Assist in case management initiation and follow-up.
- Assist provider and other clinical staff with obtaining basic vital information, preparing patient for examination, treatment and minor procedures and completing necessary documentation.
- Demonstrate competence in the clinical skills necessary to carry out assigned job duties.
- Schedule referrals for patients with specialists or outpatients as requested by the provider; complete appropriate forms or requisitions.
- Track system for follow-up appointments related to office visits, laboratory tests and procedures to monitor patient disease status and injury.
- Understand client’s work-site culture and processes while modeling UPH FOCUS Values.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program for Registered Nurses.
Experience3 years of clinical experience.
License(s)/Certification(s)- Valid driver’s license for work-related driving.
- Current license to practice nursing in Iowa, Illinois, or the state where RN functions are performed.
- BLS certification.
