RN​/LPN - Pediatric Homecare, Nights; Walnut

Family First Homecare (formerly Universal Pediatrics) is hiring Licensed Practical Nurses to deliver high-quality, in-home pediatric private-duty care to pediatric patients in Walnut, Iowa.

Schedule:

• Case #1:
  Full-time & PRN – 12:00 am to 8:00 am or 10:00 pm to 6:00 am, Monday to Sunday.
• Case #2:
  Full-time & PRN – 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday (flexible).
• Shift differential for shifts worked between 7:00 PM and 7:00 AM.

Compensation:

Hourly wage $2 per hour plus shift differential.

• Accountable for providing care within licensure/certification scope of practice.
• Maintain an updated clinical record on each patient at all times, meeting required deadlines.
• Evaluate effectiveness of nursing service to patient and family on an ongoing basis.
• Consult with physicians concerning changes to patient care plans and report all changes to nurse supervisor.
• Support Family First Homecare’s mission by mentoring and/or coaching new employees during patient-specific orientations.
• Educate patients and their caregivers on topics related to patient care needs.
• Participate in Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement program as requested.
• Continuously strive to improve nursing care skills.
• Attend and/or complete all mandatory training and in-services as assigned.
• Submit required personnel file documentation in a timely manner.
• Adhere to compliance and ethics expectations.
• Maintain patient and family confidentiality.
• Maintain professional, supportive, and responsive interpersonal communication skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Provide care for a toddler patient requiring G-tube care, tracheostomy care, ventilator support, and medication administration.
• Travel to patients’ homes to deliver care; work may include varying shift lengths and weekend availability.

• LPN/LVN Nursing Degree and unencumbered LPN/LVN license in the state of employment or a multi-state license through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact.
• One year of demonstrated experience.
• Valid driver license with proof of insurance.
• Clear background screening.
• Working knowledge of Nurse Practice Acts.
• Current CPR certificate with instructor-led hands-on skills check.
• Clear Hepatitis B, TB screening.
• Ability to read and communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
• Experience with tracheostomy and ventilator care encouraged but not required.
• Reliable, attentive, and committed to consistent scheduling.
