Position

Family First Homecare, formerly Universal Pediatrics, is hiring compassionate RNs and LPNs to provide 1:1 pediatric private duty care for a toddler in Walnut, Iowa
. This is a rewarding role for nurses who value connection, continuity of care, and making a real difference in a child’s life—plus a few extra smiles and hugs along the way.

Locations

Walnut, Iowa

Schedule
  • Full‑time hours
  • 12:00am – 08:00am or 10:00pm – 06:00am
  • Weeknight and weekend shifts available
Start of Care
  • As soon as possible
Client Needs May Include, but are not limited to:
  • Pediatric (toddler) patient
  • G‑tube care
  • Tracheostomy (trach) care
  • Ventilator support
  • Medication administration
Compensation
  • Hourly wage
  • $2/hour shift differential for shifts worked between 7:00 PM and 7:00 AM
  • Paid weekly

  • Experience with trach and ventilator care encouraged, but not required
  • Comfortable managing G‑tube feedings (training may be available)

Job Description

Family First Homecare (FFHC), formerly Universal Pediatrics, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to deliver high‑quality, in‑home nursing care to pediatric patients. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Accountable for providing care that is based on licensure/certification within the scope of practice
  • Maintain an updated clinical record on each patient at all times, meeting required documentation deadlines
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing service to the patient and family on an ongoing basis
  • Consult with physicians concerning alterations of patient care plans, document changes, and report all changes in care to the nurse supervisor
  • Support FFHC’s mission by mentoring and/or coaching new employees during patient‑specific orientations
  • Educate patients and their caregivers on topics related to patients’ care needs
  • Participate in FFHC Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement program (QAPI) as requested
  • Continuously strive to improve nursing care skills
  • Attend and/or complete all mandatory training/in‑services as assigned
  • Submit required personnel file documentation in a timely manner
  • Adhere to FFHC compliance and ethics expectations
  • Maintain patient and family confidentiality
  • Maintain professional, supportive, and responsive interpersonal communication skills
  • Perform other duties as assigned
