7pm-7am (Every third weekend)

You will guide patients and their families through the healthcare journey using the nursing process—from assessment and critical thinking to planning, implementation, evaluation, and beyond—to craft personalized care plans that adapt to each individual’s needs. Responsibilities- Delegate nursing care activities and monitor care by appropriate care team members in accordance with patient needs and the team member’s professional capabilities and qualifications. Incorporate Evidence-Based Practice and best practices into daily care.
- Contribute to a positive work environment by mentoring staff and students, and collaborating with team members to develop and facilitate quality and patient care initiatives. Communicate effectively with all team members, physicians, ancillary staff, and customers.
- Comply with policies and procedures; guide team members on compliance. Adhere to safety goals, infection prevention, and risk management policies and procedures.
Education:
- Completed an accredited nursing program and possess a valid nursing license for the state of Iowa.
License(s)/Certification(s):
- Valid nursing license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification prior to hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months from date of hire, unless ADT Nurse and not part of code blue team
- NIHSS education within 90 days of hire and maintained every two years thereafter
- Completion of six hours of stroke education prior to end of orientation and annually
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Basic computer knowledge
- Successful completion of unit orientation and competencies
- Effective communication skills
