About the roleYou will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. This role requires familiarity with plasma collection regulations or a manufacturing environment, follows guidance from Bio Life Medical Affairs, and provides EHS support.
Howyou will contribute
- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing Center Physician standing orders and escorting donors to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when unacceptable findings need to be communicated to donors or when medical or technical guidance is required.
- Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine any further evaluation required by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- State requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Satisfactory completion of the FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Hourly Wage Range: $23.04 – $31.68
The estimated hourly wage range reflects the anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance; a 401(k) plan with company match; short‑ and long‑term disability coverage; basic life insurance; tuition reimbursement; paid volunteer time off; company holidays; well‑being benefits; up to 80 hours of sick time per calendar year; and for new hires up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
