American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med Surg/Telemetry position at a Level 3 Trauma Center, requiring heparin experience and a compact or IA RN license.

• Med Surg/Telemetry unit specializing in Neuro-Ortho patient care
• Patient ratio of 6:1
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:00 PM), 3x12s schedule
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required to other med-surg units, including local campuses within the same discipline
• Uses Epic EMR

• Active RN license (Iowa or Compact) required
• Current BLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
• Current NIHSS certification
• Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required
• Experience with Heparin required
• Valid Driver's License required
• Skills Checklist specific to Med Surg/Tele required
• Supervisory reference form completed within the last two years required

• Provide professional nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team for Neuro/Ortho and Med Surg patients
• Level 3 Trauma Center environment
• Navy blue scrub color required
• Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving)
• Limited time-off requests permitted during late November and the winter holiday period
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are restricted from working travel assignments in another market within 12 months
