American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position at a Level 3 Trauma Center, requiring an active IA or compact RN license and 2+ years of PCU experience.
Requirements- Active RN license (Iowa or Compact)
- 2+ years of PCU experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Valid driver's license required
- Skills checklist specific to PCU required
- Supervisory reference/performance evaluation completed within the last two years required
- PCU unit specializing in post-critical care patients, including CHF, ablation, angiogram, TCAR, EVAR, DKA, stroke, pacemaker, and sepsis cases
- Patient ratio of 1:4, occasionally up to 1:5
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
- Floating required to the ED and all inpatient areas, potentially across local campuses
- No on-call requirements
- EMR:
Epic - Work as part of an interdisciplinary team providing clinical care and support to PCU patients in a Level 3 Trauma Center
- Holiday coverage required, including working 2 of the 3 winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving)
- Limited time-off requests permitted during peak holiday periods
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
- Past UnityPoint Health (UPH) employees, whether FTE or PRN float pool, may be restricted from working travel assignments in other UPH markets within 12 months of separation
