Opportunities Unlimited (OU) is a non-profit organization dedicated to “Maximizing Personal Potential Through Dignified and Purposeful Living.” OU provides residential rehabilitation, nursing, and therapeutic services to individuals with brain injuries and other disabilities. Located in Sioux City, Iowa, OU operates twelve residential homes and a therapy and community center offering a range of therapeutic and employment services. The organization provides Home and Community-Based Services to individuals of all ages with special needs, including skill-building and respite services.
OU’s Employment Services Department also supports individuals in vocational settings through certified job coaching tailored to help them achieve their career goals.
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Job Developer located in Sioux City, IA. The Job Developer will support individuals with disabilities in their vocational development by conducting assessments, providing tailored job coaching, and creating personalized employment development plans. Day-to-day responsibilities include helping individuals with job search activities, building relationships with employers to identify opportunities, and delivering training and career counseling to enhance skills.
The role also involves documentation of progress and providing support in achieving employment-related goals.
- Proficiency in Job Coaching and Job Development to facilitate successful employment placement and on-the-job support
- Experience in Career Counseling to assist individuals in identifying strengths and career paths
- Skills in Job Search and Training to guide individuals in resume building, applications, and interview preparation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with clients, employers, and stakeholders
- Organizational and time management skills to effectively balance multiple cases and maintain accurate records
- Knowledge of best practices in rehabilitation, vocational counseling, or workforce development is a plus
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; degree in Human Services, Education, or a related field preferred
- Must be able to meet all organizational, local, state, and federal licensing and training requirements
