Overview
We are a growing property management company seeking a Corporate Controller to ensure the integrity of our financial operations. The role reports to the COO and involves leading the accounting team, managing month‑end close, and serving as the financial backbone for a fast‑moving company.
Responsibilities- Month‑end and year‑end close
:
Ensure accurate, timely close, accruals, and reconciliations. - Team leadership
:
Lead, develop, and scale the accounting team. - Internal controls
:
Design, document, test, and continuously improve controls. - Balance sheet stewardship
:
Maintain reconciled, current, and explainable accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash, and fixed assets. - GAAP compliance & audit readiness
:
Follow GAAP and resolve audit findings promptly. - Trusted data
:
Deliver accurate, consistently defined financial and operational data to support decisions. - Investor reporting
:
Prepare property‑level financials that are clean, reconciled, and distribution‑ready.
You are a technical accounting expert, meticulous under pressure, who builds systems and fixes root causes. You lead by example, maintain calm and thoroughness, and own outcomes without deflection.
Qualifications- CPA required (active).
- 5+ years in accounting, with at least 2 years in a controller or senior accounting leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience with month‑end close, balance‑sheet reconciliation, and internal controls.
- Experience in property management or real‑estate accounting a strong plus.
- App Folio or comparable property management software experience preferred.
- Proven ability to lead and develop accounting staff.
- Experience supporting audit processes (internal or external).
