Member of Accounting, Internal Controls

We are seeking a highly experienced SOX & Internal Controls subject matter expert to join our Accounting Policy, Processes, and Controls team.

In this high-impact, "team of one" leadership role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a world‑class internal controls framework, reporting to the Accounting Policy, Processes, and Controls Lead, and serving as the company’s foremost subject matter expert on Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR).

• Design, implement, and maintain a world‑class internal controls framework.
• Lead large, strategic projects such as IPO readiness and SOX 404 execution.
• Define the strategy and execution of the internal control framework, breaking down regulatory requirements into scalable initiatives.
• Own the aggregated deficiency framework and be accountable for outcomes impacting financial reporting and the IPO transition.
• Engage with Legal, IT, Operations, and Risk to develop and implement control programs aligned with international expansion and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with Legal and Financial Reporting to establish and operationalize a Disclosure Committee.

• Deep knowledge and subject‑matter expertise in ICFR, U.S. GAAP, COSO framework, SEC rules, and PCAOB standards.
• Experience evaluating IT General Controls (ITGCs) and automated application controls to develop objectives and evolve internal control systems.

• Use independent judgment to achieve innovative breakthroughs for strategic projects like IPO readiness and SOX 404.
• Transform complex regulatory requirements into scalable, simple initiatives that ensure compliance by design.
• Impact the entire financial reporting function and the success of the IPO transition.

• Influence management on the strategic direction of the global internal controls framework.

• Communicate complex financial and regulatory issues clearly across a wide range of audiences.
• Foster meaningful discussions with senior team members and auditors, build consensus, and drive cross‑functional accountability.

• 10+ years of progressive accounting or audit experience, with 6–8 years dedicated to SOX program management.
• Active CPA credential.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, COSO framework, SEC rules, and PCAOB standards, with expertise in evaluating ITGCs and application controls.
• Kaizen mindset, strong project‑management skills, high integrity, and self‑motivated.
• Dynamic operator in a high‑growth, autonomous environment with proven influence on senior stakeholders.
• Experience operating in a high‑growth fintech or crypto environment.

• Big 4 public‑accounting experience.
• Direct experience supporting a company through IPO transition.
• Familiarity with Optro (formerly Audit Board) or similar internal control program management software.
