Tax Accountant

We are looking for a tax accountant to join a public accounting firm in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Responsibilities:

• Handle a variety of tax and accounting projects with guidance from senior team members, including preparation, review support, and related client deliverables.
• Create organized work papers and supporting documentation that clearly explain findings, calculations, and conclusions.
• Assist with engagement planning, scheduling, and progress tracking to help assignments stay on time and within expected budgets.
• Analyze financial records and statements to identify relevant tax and accounting issues and support accurate reporting.
• Prepare and record journal entries, reconcile general ledger activity, and support month-end close and account balancing processes.
• Respond to client questions in a timely manner and maintain strong working relationships through dependable, service-focused communication.
• Use accounting, tax, and spreadsheet software effectively in a paperless environment to complete assignments efficiently and accurately.
• Escalate unusual issues, anticipate potential roadblocks, and keep supervisors informed about engagement status, risks, and next steps.
• Support the firm's standards by protecting confidential information and demonstrating integrity and respect in all interactions.
