Estimator Project Manager

G.A. Johnson Construction is looking for a qualified Project Manager/Estimator.

G.A. Johnson Construction, a well established Construction Management and Design Build company is seeking an Experienced commercial construction Project Manager/Estimator. Successful candidate must have excellent construction knowledge of project management and estimating materials and systems, and a 10 year history of successful performance in a similar position.

Projects would include Schools, Detention Facilities, state and local government building projects, office, industrial and manufacturing facilities, and interior remodeling.

This position is located in Harrisburg, SD.

We are a professional building service company providing Design/Build, Construction Management, and General Contracting around South Dakota and the upper Midwest.

Full Time M-F:

• Managing Construction Management Projects CMAR, proposals, contracts
• Estimating materials on projects for customer quotes
  • Hard Bid and Conceptual Estimating
• Providing excellent customer service
• Setting appointments with potential customers, preparing quotes on projects and selling project to contacts.
• Reviews all shop drawings prior to approval, issues RFI’s as needed and expedites shop drawing approvals.
• Efficient project scheduling
• Contract Management

• Knowledge of current building codes for design of building elements
• Previous estimating experience in the steel or metal buildings industry and/or wood building components
• Ability to contribute effectively in a team environment
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
• Strong ability to analyze and strategically plan projects
• Strong computer skills, including knowledge of MS Word and Excel, Planswift/Blue Beam, Procore, Submittal Exchange
• Willingness and means to travel and a valid driver’s license are required

• 4 Year Construction Management or Civil Engineering Degree
• 10 years Commercial Construction Estimating/Project Management of projects $1-40 Million
• Osha 30
