Job Description
This mid-level Construction Superintendent role oversees midsize commercial construction projects from groundbreaking through completion. The position focuses on coordinating subcontractors, managing project timelines, and ensuring high-quality finish work while maintaining strong communication with all on-site stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Oversee midsize commercial construction projects from initial site development and groundbreaking through final completion.
* Coordinate and manage subcontractors on site, ensuring work aligns with project scope, schedule, and quality standards.
* Read and interpret blueprints and construction documents to guide day-to-day field operations.
* Monitor construction progress, proactively identify issues, and implement solutions to keep projects on schedule.
* Lead the project team through all phases of construction, maintaining clear communication of project timelines and expectations.
* Develop, maintain, and complete punch lists to ensure all work meets quality and specification requirements prior to project closeout.
* Ensure that finish work in commercial construction meets design standards, client expectations, and applicable codes.
* Collaborate with project management and construction management teams to align field activities with overall project plans.
* Manage time on site effectively, balancing multiple tasks and priorities throughout the project lifecycle.
* Foster a positive, professional work environment on the job site, demonstrating strong people skills in daily interactions.
Essential Skills
* Proven experience in construction management with responsibility for field supervision on commercial projects.
* Hands-on project management experience in commercial construction environments.
* Strong background in subcontractor management, including coordination and oversight of multiple trades.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other construction documents accurately.
* Practical understanding of how buildings are built, including site development and commercial construction methods.
* Experience managing punch lists and driving items to completion.
* Ability to lead projects through defined timelines and milestones.
* Effective people skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with subcontractors, team members, and stakeholders.
* Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
* Ability to multitask and manage multiple activities on a busy construction site.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sioux Falls, SD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
