Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for a construction professional who brings strong leadership, operational oversight, and field coordination experience while also contributing to preconstruction and estimating efforts when needed.
Our commercial projects include retail, office, healthcare, education, industrial, and mixed-use construction throughout the Sioux Falls region. As a Construction Project Manager, you’ll lead projects from concept to completion – overseeing planning, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractors, client communication, and overall project execution.
Project Management- Lead commercial construction projects from contract execution through final closeout.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, documentation, and overall project performance.
- Draft, review, and administer AIA contracts, and related project documents.
- Coordinate subcontractor buyouts and ensure scopes are clearly defined and aligned.
- Lead project meetings and maintain strong communication with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Monitor project costs, billing, forecasting, and change orders to maintain profitability and accuracy.
- Partner closely with field leadership to ensure schedule alignment, quality standards, and successful project execution.
- Proactively identify and resolve project risks, conflicts, delays, and operational challenges.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and client expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and engineering plans.
- Assist with quantity takeoffs, budgeting, and cost estimating for commercial construction projects.
- Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Participate in constructability reviews and value engineering discussions.
- Support preparation of competitive bids and negotiated proposals.
- Collaborate with leadership during project planning and preconstruction phases.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to drive accountability and project performance.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities in fast‑paced construction environments.
- Practical, hands‑on understanding of commercial construction means and methods.
- Financially minded with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and project costs.
- Proactive, detail‑oriented, and solution‑focused.
- Able to navigate challenges professionally while maintaining positive working relationships.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred – or equivalent industry experience.
- 8+ years of commercial construction experience with demonstrated success managing projects from start to finish.
- Experience with preconstruction and estimating responsibilities preferred.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes, scheduling, contracts, and project financials.
- Experience with AIA contracts and project documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings across disciplines.
- Proficient with construction management software such as Procore, Timberline, Bluebeam, MS Project, and Excel.
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards, permitting processes, and construction safety requirements.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
