JOB SUMMARY:
** Position Summary*

** is seeking a highly motivated and experienced
** Construction Project Manager
** to lead commercial construction and renovation projects across our growing portfolio of retail, warehouse, and corporate facilities. This role is responsible for managing projects from concept through completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a strong construction background, exceptional project management skills, and the ability to build productive relationships with contractors, architects, engineers, vendors, and internal stakeholders. This position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on Furniture Mart USA’s continued growth and expansion.
** Essential
Duties & Responsibilities *
* ** Project Planning & Execution
*** Lead and manage construction projects from pre-construction planning through final completion and occupancy.
* Develop and oversee project schedules, budgets, scopes of work, and resource plans to ensure successful project delivery.
* Coordinate project activities among architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal business partners.
* Monitor project progress and proactively address challenges, risks, and changes that may impact schedule, cost, or quality.
* Ensure all projects align with company objectives, design standards, and operational requirements.
** Budget & Financial Management
*** Develop project budgets and maintain financial accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
* Review bids, proposals, change orders, pay applications, and invoices for accuracy and compliance with project objectives.
* Identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering while maintaining quality and functionality.
* Track project expenditures and provide regular financial reporting to leadership.
** Contract & Vendor Managemen
** t* Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors.
* Manage contractor performance, ensuring adherence to contract terms, project schedules, quality expectations, and safety requirements.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners to support long-term business success.
** Quality, Safety & Compliance
*** Ensure all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, building codes, and company standards.
* Promote a culture of safety by ensuring contractors follow applicable safety policies and construction site requirements.
* Conduct regular site visits and inspections to verify work quality, schedule adherence, and compliance with approved plans and specifications.
* Partner with city officials, inspectors, and permitting agencies to obtain required approvals and facilitate timely inspections.
** Communication & Leadership
*** Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders and provide regular updates on project status, risks, budget performance, and milestones.
* Lead project meetings and facilitate effective communication between all project participants.
* Resolve project conflicts, issues, and delays quickly and professionally to maintain project momentum.
* Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, permits, schedules, change orders, budgets, and project reports.
** Qualifications Required
*** Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
* Minimum of
** 5 years of construction project management experience**, preferably overseeing commercial construction projects.
* Proven experience managing projects from planning and design through construction and project closeout.
