Position SummaryTQ Constructors is seeking a dependable and hardworking Construction Laborer / Helper to support field operations on commercial and industrial construction projects in the Sioux Falls area. This position assists skilled tradesmen, foremen, and project crews with daily construction activities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.
The ideal candidate is motivated, willing to learn, able to work in varying weather conditions, comfortable working at heights, and committed to helping projects stay on schedule. Construction experience is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities- Assist construction crews with general labor duties on active job sites
- Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Support pipe fitters and welders, and other skilled trades as needed
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely
- Help with construction, installation, site preparation, and material staging
- Work at elevated heights using proper fall protection equipment
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements
- Perform lifting, carrying, and other physical labor tasks
- Assist with site cleanup activities
- Report safety concerns, incidents, or damaged equipment immediately
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and other TQ employees to complete projects efficiently
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Project Manager / Foreman
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous construction or industrial experience preferred but not required
- Comfortable working at heights and on elevated platforms, ladders, or lifts
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments
- Willingness to learn construction methods and safety procedures
- Must be able to pass pre‑employment screening requirements
- Prior Construction experience on industrial or commercial construction projects.
- OSHA 10/30 certification.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work for extended periods
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work safely at elevated heights
- Ability to safely use ladders, tools, and construction equipment
Pay Range:
