Job Description
The Project Manager leads and delivers commercial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role manages budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within scope. The position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with strong potential for professional growth.
Responsibilities- Lead commercial construction projects from pre-construction planning through project closeout.
- Develop, manage, and track project budgets to ensure financial performance aligns with project goals.
- Create, maintain, and update project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, ensuring quality workmanship, adherence to plans, and timely completion of tasks.
- Manage client relationships by serving as a primary point of contact and providing regular project updates.
- Review, interpret, and manage construction documents to ensure work aligns with plans and specifications.
- Prepare, review, and process change orders, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
- Collaborate with estimators and project engineers to support accurate project estimation and planning.
- Oversee project coordination activities, including meetings, documentation, and communication among stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks or issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards, building codes, and company policies.
- Support project closeout activities, including final inspections, punch lists, and turnover documentation.
- 3–5 years of project management experience in commercial construction, preferably with a general contractor.
- Proven experience managing construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
- Strong experience in commercial construction and construction management.
- Hands‑on experience with project coordination in a construction environment.
- Ability to read, interpret, and manage construction documents.
- Experience preparing and managing change orders.
- Strong estimation and project engineering understanding within construction projects.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field.
- Project management experience with a general contractor.
- Experience in commercial construction project estimation.
- Experience working as or closely with a project engineer.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to build and maintain positive client and subcontractor relationships.
- Motivation to grow professionally within a fast-growing company.
This is an in-person role based on active construction project sites and office settings. The work environment is fast paced and involves regular collaboration with project teams, subcontractors, and clients. The position requires being present on-site to monitor progress, review construction activities, and attend meetings, as well as working in an office environment to manage documentation, schedules, and budgets.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Sioux Falls, SD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $67,000.00 - $ per year. Competitive base salary + bonus potential. Health, dental, and vision insurance. 401(k) with company contribution. PTO and holidays.
Workplace TypeThis is a fully onsite position in Sioux Falls, SD.
