Construction Laborer
Location:
Sioux Falls, SD
Pay: $18-$23/hour
Hours:
Monday-Friday, 7 am-5 pm
This role supports a newly launched commercial construction site by providing hands-on labor and assisting with a variety of building tasks, with strong potential for permanent employment based on performance. The position involves working closely with a small crew on commercial new construction projects, contributing to safe, efficient, and high-quality completion of work on diverse building types.
Responsibilities:- Assist with general construction activities on commercial new construction projects, including tasks related to carpentry, finishing, and overall building support.
- Support carpenters and other trades by handling materials, tools, and equipment, and by helping with layout, assembly, and installation as directed.
- Operate or assist with forklifts and other site equipment if qualified and directed, ensuring safe and proper use at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by removing debris, organizing materials, and following site safety procedures.
Skills:
- Experience working in construction, preferably in commercial new construction environments.
- Ability to perform general labor tasks such as lifting, carrying, loading, and assisting with carpentry and finishing work.
- Comfort working with basic construction tools and equipment under supervision.
- Willingness and ability to follow safety protocols and site procedures consistently.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively in small crews of 1–3 people within larger teams of up to 20 people.
- Reliable work ethic, including punctuality and the ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal rework.

WorkEnvironment:
The role is based on commercial new construction sites, including schools, manufacturing buildings, warehouse construction, new retail construction, hospital and medical buildings, and apartment complexes. Crews typically consist of small immediate teams of 1–3 people within larger jobsite teams of about 5–20 workers. The environment is hands-on, fast-paced, and safety-focused, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and mutual support.

Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
