Custodian​/Janitor

Keep our school shining - O†Gorman High School is seeking a dedicated Custodian to make a difference in the lives of our students by providing a clean and safe environment.

Our ‘Mission’ desires “to form a community of faith and learning by promoting a Catholic way of life through Gospel values and academic excellence.” We are seeking an individual who will exhibit the ‘Core Values’ of Bishop O†Gorman Catholic Schools:

Starting rate is $17.20/hr without experience and can increase based on relevant experience.

O†Gorman High School

• Promote the mission of Bishop O†Gorman Catholic Schools
• Keep buildings and grounds in a clean and sanitary condition. Clean up daily pickup of trash and debris.
• Clean and/or mop floors daily, disinfect bathrooms and drinking fountains
• Clean and disinfect classrooms
• Set up and take down equipment/chairs, etc. for all events at/related to the school
• Clean snow from sidewalks, as needed
• When applicable, open and lock the school buildings
• Promote a positive public image to students, staff and community through cooperation and attitude
• Shampoo Carpets (usually in the summer)
• Painting (as needed in summer)
• Annual floor care (e.g. stripping/waxing)

• Ability to work daytime hours, primarily Monday-Friday
• Clarity of vision
• Ability to speak English clearly
• Ability to hear and distinguish sounds, including speech, alarms and other work environment sounds
• Fine hand motor skills to include and not limited to keyboarding, writing, grasping, holding, and repetitive motion
• Ability to frequently sit, stand, and walk through work day
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds regularly
• Ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds
• Ability to intermittently bend, squat, and reach overhead
