2nd Grade Teacher

St. Mary Elementary School

• Promote the mission of Bishop O’Gorman Catholic Schools and model the teaching of the Catholic Church
• Support the growth and development of students in their faith
• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging instructional activities aligned with system curriculum maps that encourage active learning and student participation
• Monitor and evaluate student performance, provide timely feedback on assignments, and maintain accurate records of grades and progress
• Foster a welcoming and disciplined classroom environment while supporting students through pastoral care, encouragement, and mentorship
• Communicate regularly with parents, students, and staff regarding student progress and needs as well as attend parent-teacher conferences, school events, and departmental meetings to support the school community
• Take responsibility for classroom resources and the school environment, including creating bulletin boards and managing supplies
• Integrate relevant technology into teaching and stay up to date on new methods, resources, and developments in education to enhance instruction

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
• Catholic in good standing with ability to be a spiritual leader of Bishop O’Gorman Catholic Schools
• State certification

• Ability to work daytime hours, primarily Monday-Friday
• Clarity of vision
• Ability to speak English clearly
• Ability to hear and distinguish sounds, including speech, alarms and other work environment sounds
• Fine hand motor skills to include and not limited to keyboarding, writing, grasping, holding, and repetitive motion
• Ability to frequently sit, walk and stand through work day
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
• Ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds
• Ability to intermittently bend, squat, and reach overhead
