Education Level

Two years of post‑high‑school education or higher, or ability to pass a state‑approved standardized test for designated Education Assistant positions.

Experience Desired

At least one year of work experience in a role requiring interpersonal interaction skills and strategies to support students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs.

Physical Requirements

Requires hand‑eye coordination, hearing, bending, crouching, reaching, speaking, standing, and other movements, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.

Other Requirements

Experience with behavior management.

Essential Functions & Duties

Escort students to transportation and other areas of the building.

Provide personal care to students with special daily living needs (e.g., toileting, feeding, physical management).

Review and practice skills taught by a teacher with students 1:1 and in small groups in special education classroom and/or regular classroom.

Work with students in schools and on community outings.

Prepare instructional materials as directed or selected by teacher.

Reinforce instructional and behavioral objectives.

Provide clerical assistance in maintaining student records (charting, assignments, attendance, data for progress notes).

Assist with supervision of students during recess, lunchroom, and playground.

Maintain confidentiality of students and families.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay Information

Starting at $18.42 per hour. Pay Day: last working day of each month, based on the payroll cutoff schedule.

Hours & FTE

Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. with a 30‑minute unpaid lunch. 0.875 FTE, 35 hours per week, 9 months.
