Overview
The Educational Support Professional (ESP) in the CTE Academy Carpentry Program assists instructional activities by supporting students in the hands‑on construction of two homes each year, supervising students, and maintaining shop operations. The ESP ensures a safe, organized, and productive learning environment while reinforcing industry standards and instructional goals.
Other qualifications include a knowledge of carpentry practices, tools, and construction safety standards, an ability to work effectively with high school students in a hands‑on learning environment, and strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Requirements- Two years of post‑high‑school education or higher, or the ability to pass a state‑approved standardized test.
- Must perform regular physical activity including climbing ladders and scaffolding, lifting and moving lumber and materials, and standing for extended periods.
- Requires constant hand‑eye coordination, intermittent holding, repetitive wrist and hand motions, and the ability to bend, carry, and stoop frequently.
- Must demonstrate skill using a computer for word processing and data entry.
- May be required to complete safety or operation courses for the use of production/power tools.
Level G, starting at $18.42 per hour. $1,000 Sign‑On Bonus!
Pay Day:
Last working day of each month, based on the payroll cutoff schedule.
Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm with a one‑hour unpaid lunch. 0.875 FTE, 35 hours per week, 9 months.
