This position is for the  school year.

Education Level: Two years of post‑high school education or higher, or ability to pass a state‑approved standardized test for designated Education Assistant positions.

Experience Desired: At least one year of work experience requiring interpersonal interaction skills and knowledge of strategies to support students with social, emotional, and behavior needs.

Physical Requirements: Constant hand‑eye and mind‑eye coordination, hearing, frequent bending, crouching, reaching, removing, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, threading, turning, and walking; frequent carrying, grasping, holding, lifting, opening, pulling, unfolding, unlocking; ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.

Other Requirements: Experience with behavior management.

• Escorts students to transportation and other areas of the building.
• Provides personal care to students with special daily living needs (e.g., toileting, feeding, physical management).
• Provides review and practice of skills taught by a teacher with students 1:1 and in small groups in special education and/or regular classroom settings.
• Works with students in schools and on community outings.
• Prepares instructional materials as directed or selected by the teacher.
• Reinforces instructional and behavioral objectives.
• Provides clerical assistance to maintain student records (charting, assignments, attendance, data for progress notes).
• Assists with the supervision of students during recess, lunchroom, and on the playground.
• Maintains confidentiality of students and their families.
• Reinforces instructional and behavioral objectives for children.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Starting at $18.42 per hour.

Pay Day:
Last working day of each month, based on the payroll cutoff schedule.

Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

0.875 FTE, 35 hours per week, 9 months.

Benefits are available for positions 20 hours per week or more.
