Certified Driver's Education Instructor/Driver - Part Time
Starting Date: Immediately
ResponsibilitiesClassroom Instructor:
- 30 hours of “How To Drive” curriculum instruction plus preparation time.
- Scheduling: 1‑2 classes in Spring (Feb–May), 2‑3 classes in Summer (Jun–Aug), 1‑2 classes in Fall/Winter (Sep–Nov); after school availability for Spring/fall sessions; weekday availability for Summer sessions.
- Flexible part‑time schedule with additional classroom paid training.
Driving Instructor:
- 12 hours of behind‑the‑wheel instruction per student group.
- Vehicle provided by Community Education.
- Scheduling: after school/weekend for Spring/fall sessions; weekday/weeknight and weekend for Summer sessions.
- Additional driving paid training.
Required:
- South Dakota Professional Teaching Certificate or Educator Permit.
- Driver’s Education Instructor endorsement.
Interested individuals do not need to be a state‑certified teacher to become an instructor or to instruct for a school district.
CompensationPosition Type: Part‑time
Salary: $29 per hour
