Requirements- Two or more years post high school education, preference for early child-centered studies or early childhood development expertise;
Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred. - Previous work in an educational setting, childcare, daycare, CPR certification, First Aid training, familiarity with child development techniques.
- Patience, flexibility, caring personality, punctuality, dependability; experience with monitoring social and emotional development and behavior management; ability to follow classroom routines and respond calmly to challenging behaviors.
- Physical: ability to engage with children, bend, kneel, sit on floor, lift up to 50 lbs; perform duties indoors and outdoors, participate in classroom and playground activities.
Classroom Support:
- Support lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and routines for children ages 3 to 5, including those with diverse abilities.
- Support small group and individualized instruction across developmental domains: early literacy, numeracy, motor skills, social-emotional growth.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, engaging classroom environment.
- Incorporate play-based, sensory-rich, hands‑on learning experiences.
- Use positive behavior support strategies to foster social-emotional development and address behavioral challenges.
Child Supervision & Guidance:
- Active supervision to ensure safety during indoor/outdoor play, transitions, meals, rests.
- Model and support positive behavior and social interactions with developmentally appropriate guidance.
- Provide physical assistance (toileting, dressing, feeding support).
Health, Nutrition, and Safety:
- Assist with preparation, serving, cleanup of snacks and meals per guidelines.
- Promote hygiene routines: handwashing, toileting, cleanup.
- Follow health and safety procedures, including emergency drills and incident reporting.
Family & Team
Collaboration:
- Communicate professionally with families and caregivers.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, specialists, program coordinators to meet individual child goals, including IEP or intervention plans.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, ongoing professional development.
Starting at $18.42 per hour.
Pay Day:
Last working day of each month (based on payroll cutoff schedule).
Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm with a 30‑minute unpaid lunch.
0.75 FTE, 30 hours per week, 9 months.
Benefits InformationBenefits available for positions 20 hours per week or more.
