The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at South Dakota State University invites applications for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor specializing in Transportation Engineering. The successful candidate will contribute to innovative teaching, impactful research, and engagement with students and industry partners.

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in civil and transportation engineering.
• Advise students and supervise research projects.
• Develop an externally funded research program in areas such as intelligent transportation systems, traffic operations, data analytics, and resilient infrastructure.
• Contribute to departmental, college, and university service.

• Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or a closely related field (by start date).
• At least one degree from an ABET‑accredited Civil Engineering program or equivalent teaching experience.
• Demonstrated or potential ability to secure research funding.
• Strong communication and teaching skills.

Starting salary: $92,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications.
