Assist students and instructor in lab projects and skill assessment documentation. Assign students to appropriate lab spaces, animals, and skill assessment to ensure a variety of learning experiences. Provide mentorship and guidance by modeling professional behavior, reinforcing Veterinary Technician Skills and practices Monitor student progress through regular review of time logs, case records, and worksheet documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Deliver timely, meaningful, and constructive feedback on student performance, both informally in the clinical environment and formally through evaluations based on established rubrics. Collaborate with program faculty to support student competency development in alignment with AVMA standards. Assist with open lab sessions on campus, supporting faculty in managing student activities, skills practice, and remediation as needed. Uphold college, program, and industry standards for professionalism, safety, and patient care.
Assist with live animal delivery, monitoring, and movement to and within the facility. Facilitate class instruction in accordance with learning objectives and session plan outlines specified by STC. Teach in ways and methods that engage student learning. Establish a positive student learning environment that promotes retention, accountability, diversity, equity, excellence, innovation, collaboration, dignity, self-respect, safety, student success and personal and professional growth.
Strong communication and mentoring skills. Perform other duties as assigned
Education:
Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technician Licensure:
State license in Veterinary Technician
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Vet Tech General classroom environment with standard equipment available during classroom instruction. Managing, lifting, and restraining animals, both small and large. Lighting and temperature are adequate for course delivery. Moderate noise levels typical of a classroom environment. May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions when traveling outside the classroom. Compensation details: 21.2 Hourly Wage PI83000c92706f-
