Work closely with the VDC Manager and project teams to optimize workflows and resolve challenges.
As a VDC Specialist
, you will:
- Independently develop and refine Revit models for plumbing and ventilation systems, ensuring design accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Create detailed fabrication spool drawings, layout plans, and bills of materials to support accurate fabrication and installation.
- Perform and oversee clash detection using Navisworks, identifying and resolving potential conflicts before construction begins.
- Collaborate with the VDC Manager and project stakeholders to resolve design challenges and implement improvements.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure models and drawings meet internal standards, industry best practices, and client requirements.
- Incorporate critical data from engineering specifications, submittals, and manuals into BIM models.
- Utilize Trimble Sys Que or similar tools for fabrication‑ready BIM modeling.
- Support cloud‑based project coordination through platforms like BIM 360 or similar tools.
- Technical Expertise
:
Advanced proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and Trimble Sys Que for complex mechanical modeling and clash detection. - Industry Knowledge
:
Strong understanding of plumbing and ventilation design standards, codes, and construction practices. - Problem‑Solving Skills
:
Ability to resolve design and coordination challenges effectively. - Collaboration Skills
:
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities for interacting with project teams and the VDC Manager. - Professionalism
:
Detail‑oriented, organized, and punctual with a commitment to maintaining high‑quality standards. - Education
:
Associate degree or certificate in architectural or mechanical drafting technology. Equivalent practical experience of 10 years is also acceptable. - Experience
:
At least 8 years of Revit experience, with extensive exposure to advanced modeling and BIM project coordination.
- Office Work
:
Prolonged periods of desk work, focusing on computer‑based modeling and design. - Field Visits
:
Occasional jobsite visits to gather data, verify layouts, and resolve issues. - Physical Requirements
:
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed. - Insurance
