Intern Pipeline Compliance Data Analyst/Engineer – Internship

Sioux Falls, SD.

Work Location: Aberdeen, Huron or Mitchell, SD

Pay range: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour (first year interns $20.00/hour, returning interns $21.00/hour)

Employment Status: Temporary (May
- August full-time, 40 hours per week)(September
- December part-time, 20 hours per week)

About This Job
  • Collect and clean gas pipeline and compliance-related data from various internal systems to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Assist in data analysis using statistical techniques and data visualization tools
  • Support the creation of reports, dashboards, and presentations related to pipeline inspections, maintenance, field activities and compliance metrics
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Gas Operations, Asset Management, GIS, Compliance) to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights
  • Contribute to the development of data-driven strategies to solve business problems
  • Help identify trends, patterns, and opportunities through data analysis

Success Profile
  • Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
  • Pursuing a degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Industrial, or related) or a technical/data-focused field (Data Analytics)
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • For data‑focused applicants:
    Experience with data analysis tools or software preferred (Excel, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
  • For engineering applicants:
    Knowledge related to utility systems, gas operations, energy infrastructure is preferred
  • Has successfully completed freshman year or above
  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Must provide GPA in resume upon application
