Intern Pipeline Compliance Data Analyst/Engineer – Internship
Sioux Falls, SD.
Work Location: Aberdeen, Huron or Mitchell, SD
Pay range: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour (first year interns $20.00/hour, returning interns $21.00/hour)
Employment Status: Temporary (May
- August full-time, 40 hours per week)(September
- December part-time, 20 hours per week)
- Collect and clean gas pipeline and compliance-related data from various internal systems to ensure accuracy and quality
- Assist in data analysis using statistical techniques and data visualization tools
- Support the creation of reports, dashboards, and presentations related to pipeline inspections, maintenance, field activities and compliance metrics
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Gas Operations, Asset Management, GIS, Compliance) to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights
- Contribute to the development of data-driven strategies to solve business problems
- Help identify trends, patterns, and opportunities through data analysis

- Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
- Pursuing a degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Industrial, or related) or a technical/data-focused field (Data Analytics)
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- For data‑focused applicants:
Experience with data analysis tools or software preferred (Excel, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, or similar) - For engineering applicants:
Knowledge related to utility systems, gas operations, energy infrastructure is preferred - Has successfully completed freshman year or above
- Must be in good academic standing
- Must provide GPA in resume upon application
