Policy Analyst
The South Dakota Division of Banking regulates the state’s banking, trust, and financial services industries to assure that our citizens have confidence in our state’s financial markets and services. We are seeking an inquisitive individual with analytical and communication skills to join our team of professionals.

- Manage internal information system to ensure integrity of licensee information.
- Maintain efficient interaction between internal databases and nationwide licensing system owned by the states.
- Extract licensee information and run reports from databases to support licensee monitoring and examination functions.
- Review and update reporting processes to ensure the Division has the necessary information to monitor its licenses.
- Develop and maintain policy and procedure manuals related to licensing processes and databases.
- Recommend changes to Division processes, rules, and state laws to keep up with changes in federal law and policy.
- Daily interaction with Division staff, license applicants, licensed companies and the general public.
- Answer telephones and answer licensing questions.
- Assist Division staff in the licensing of money lenders, mortgage lenders, and money transmitters.
- Review documents, forms, data and files to ensure accuracy and completeness.

A bachelor’s degree in banking, finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
Candidate Should Have- Handle multiple priorities.
- Maintain strict confidentiality.
- Organize and coordinate activities and a variety of processes and information.
- Communicate information concisely and efficiently.
- Be highly motivated and self‑starting.
- Compose a general business letter.
- Exercise tact, patience, and discretion in communicating and dealing with persons of varying backgrounds and personalities.
