Students in the Game Development Student Organization study game design patterns,engines and work as a team to accomplish large-scale projects. The Game Development Student Organization looks at developing for cross compatibility across devices, including

PC, console, mobile and VR and uses Meta Quest systems for testing and development.

A Computer Technician has strong troubleshooting skills and technical proficiency related to a variety of computer hardware and software systems and attached peripherals,such as monitors, keyboards, printers and drives. Your one year of coursework at Southeast Tech will explore installation and minor repairs to hardware and software systems,aswell as how to provide technical assistance and training to users.

As a Computer Repair Technician from STC, you will:

• Determine compatibility for computer operating systems
• Know computer construction, troubleshooting and wiring
• Understand network operating systems and desktop operating systems
• Find work-around solutions in time-sensitive situations
• Demonstrate customer service skills as it relates to user training and assistance

Computers are ubiquitous in today’s world. As an I.T. technician, your role is to overseer computer systems and install or make minor repairs to software, hardware orother equipment to ensure the system operates correctly. You also will answer user inquiries, diagnose problems and correct issues.

During your training in Sioux Falls as a Computer Technician, you will study in STC'shands-on lab in the Southeast Technology Center . Here, you will learn to analyze network hardware and software problems and troubleshoot issues; analyze the impact of new releases on existing systems; and master research and presentations on a system or issue. This coursework also helps you:

Demonstrate Professionalism: Working with STC’s faculty, you will learn safe working practices with computers andother equipment.

Skills:

You will write instructions on computer operating systems and software installation/upgrade procedures.

Southeast Tech’s Computer Technician curriculum totals 35 credits, including classesin Network Electronics, Microcomputer Hardware, Windows Server OS, Linux Administration and Intro to Programming.

Costs are calculated based on a charge of $278 per credit hour, plus applicable fees.

To be named to the President’s List, students must be full‑time (12 or more credits), seeking a degree and have a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher. To receive Academic Honors, students must be enrolled part‑time (6‑12 credits), seeking a degree and have a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.
