As part of HDR's Federal Business Group (FBG), you'll help design the critical infrastructure that supports the digital age and shapes the spaces where people work, maintain, train, deploy, thrive, and engage in meaningful services for our Federal Government.
From high-performance command and control facilities to education and training centers, your work will directly support design, construction support, resiliency, planning, asset management, program management and thought leadership directly engaged with a myriad of federal agencies. The Federal Business Group Technology Director will work as part of our Professional Services and Delivery leadership team, with the primary function of driving a strategic vision and leading a team of experts in the implementation of technology solutions across the multidisciplinary consulting practice. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Federal leadership across all 6 Business Groups, Corporate Technology, operational leadership, technology leaders from throughout the organization, vendors, and other stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and deploy technology initiatives that enhance project execution, efficiency, and innovation.
This position reports to the Professional Services and Delivery Director, and success is measured by the development of effective technology solutions for consulting and project delivery, talent-oriented growth, fostering a technology-focused community of practice, shaping long-term strategic plans, leveraging technology as a market differentiator, and positioning HDR as an industry leader.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead evaluation of emerging technologies relevant to Federal programs
- Drive technology innovation that supports Federal professional services delivery
- Represent the FBG in enterprise technology planning
- Active membership and participation in the HDR Technology Leadership Team (TLT)
- Develop and align technology visions and roadmaps for Federal Market Sectors and Delivery Teams
- Partner with Corporate Technology to ensure Federal compliant platforms and investments
- Standardize workflows and delivery practices for Federal programs
- Lead evaluation and adoption of shared technology solutions for Federal delivery
- Lead evaluation and adoption of emerging technology solutions such as AI/ML for Federal delivery across all Business Groups
- Lead FBG proposals for investment in technology
- Define technology capability requirements necessary to support Federal programs
- Participate in technology governance with a Federal compliance lens
- Enable collaboration and knowledge sharing across all Business Groups
- Foster Federal technology talent and workforce development
- Promote and communicate technology strategies to Federal stakeholders to inspire adoption and maximize business value (ROI)
- Support implementation of enterprise or shared solutions within Federal programs
- Integrate innovation with Federal risk management and compliance
- Promote thought leadership in Federal technology domains
- Provide cross sector, cross-Business Group technology expertise for major Federal pursuits and programs
- Develop Federal aligned technology guidelines and validation processes
- Lead FBG data stewardship
- Lead and participate in technology related committees and working groups
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting enterprise technology strategy for multidisciplinary engineering or professional services organizations
- Minimum 10 years of demonstrated experience executing projects involving technological solutions within the AEC industry for Federal clients
- Knowledge of Federal cybersecurity frameworks and requirements including NIST, RMF, FedRAMP, CMMC, and CUI
- Experience evaluating technology, and software development and deployment
- Demonstrated understanding of a broad range of technologies and their applied delivery within the Federal sectors
- Experience in numerical modeling, digital production, and data science, data architecture, data management, and well-versed in industry and federal standards
