The successful candidate will work as part of a team and with state agencies to elicit, analyze, and document their critical business requirements. The goal is to reduce overall costs and provide more efficient use of resources. Solutions often include a platform and software development component and may also consist of business process improvements or software acquisition.

Business Analyst level assignment, payrate, and classification will depend on the experience and qualifications of the applicant.

If hired in as an IT4 – Application/Business Analyst, the incumbent will be paid an hourly rate between $27.12 and $33.89. The scope of work encompasses one or more projects, agencies, functions and/or business processes. Primary responsibilities include:

• assessing and documenting systems and business requirements, functions, and governance rules;
• communicating regularly to agency leadership, project management team members and stakeholders;
• coordinating plans for systems testing, quality assurance, and user acceptance testing;
• extracting data, designing and implementing data models, and interpreting results to identify patterns and apply business context;
• identifying and reporting issues to the attention of relevant stakeholders and project management;
• producing artifacts, including user stories and acceptance criteria, story maps, data flows, process flows, etc.;
• translating business requirements into software requirements.

If hired in as an IT6 – Senior Application/Business Analyst, the incumbent will be paid an annual rate between $68,256.72 and $85,315.68. Duties in this classification will be similar; however, project complexity and oversight may change.
