Summary
Fabricates aluminum framing to meet production schedules, able to work and communicate with all employees, responsible for staging jobs and ensuring all pieces are accounted for.
Role and ResponsibilitiesOther duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
- Able to read and understand shop drawings
- Able to read and understand system specific fabrication instructions
- A good understanding of required fabrication techniques for current aluminum manufacturers
- Communicate with Shop Lead/Area Manager any inventory needs required for the aluminum shop
- Follow a fabrication release, accurately cut material, fabricate, and assemble.
- Assist Department Head to receive, unpack, examine and check in materials
- Assist Department Head to move materials from receiving areas. Sort and place on racks or shelves. Mark materials with identifying information.
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Partners with our Safety Department and Operations Leadership to promote and ensure a safe work environment and ensure all safety precautions are met.
Individual must be a strong team player, detail oriented, and problem‑solving skills. Must be able to work under minimal supervision, manage multiple tasks and interact with others in a professional manner.
The individual should have taken construction courses, shop courses and or experience in each and English and math courses. Experience with measuring and tools that may be used or seen on the job is preferred. Writing and reading fluently in English will help in following written instructions, safety warnings and communicating with contractors.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Able to accurately read a tape measure
- Have a basic understanding of how to use FGP tools
- Able to communicate accurate information back to your Department Head
- Have a willingness to learn a trade
- Able to take direction and follow through with what you have been told
- Able to learn to read shop drawings and apply information to your work
- Able to read and understand manufacturer installation instructions
- Have an understanding of how to assemble both storefront and curtain wall
- Able to install a continuous caulking bead and understand the required preparation
