The Production worker is responsible for operating and maintaining line equipment, monitoring the process, and assisting the production line with the preparation and packaging of products ensuring all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety and quality standards are met and maintaining the efficient flow of product through the production process. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duties assigned to best serve the company.
PositionResponsibilities
- Works on Production line, according to procedures. May switch positions every two (2) hours and may be required to work other positions within the Production facility.
- Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training. Maintain safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and persons. Report any injury or accident immediately to supervisory and/or any unsafe condition.
- Maintain and follow GMP, Serv Safe, HACCP, SQF, OSHA and OLM Food Solutions standards in the work environment.
- Ability to learn, participate and become knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing practices, 6 Sigma and Root Cause Analysis.
- General labor.
- Stack product on pallet.
- Ability to run the inserter.
- May start up and shut down operations for line.
- Set up and change over metal detection & box taper.
- Machine Operator – simple/complex.
- Ability to utilize the box and bag maker.
- Ability to accurately operate the cheese sealer.
- Ability to operate pallet stacker, stacking 25-pound cases onto a pallet.
- Education and/or
Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. - Communication/Language
Skills:
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) is a must. Ability to read and comprehend documents, simple instructions and product labels. - Certifications:
Electric palate jack and HACCP certification preferred. - Mathematical
Skills:
Perform basic math functions with the ability to calculate figures and amounts. - Reasoning Abilities:
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Strong analytical skills with ability to identify opportunities.
