Field Maintenance​/Repair Welder - Traveling

The Shop Laborer Summer Intern will perform a variety of tasks within the fabrication shop. This person will gain exposure to the welding industry and assist coworkers with everyday tasks.

• Cleans and lubricates equipment, maintains a manufacturing area free from debris and dirt, and readies or puts away tools as assigned.
• Closely follows directions to operate machinery, hold or supply materials and tools, and load or unload items on machinery.
• Cares for property by repairing yard, shoveling and removing snow.
• By using an oxygen acetylene torch, cut steel scrap material and carry to bin to assist with burn table operations.
• Fill in blaster for continuing blast booth operations if full-time blaster is absent.
• Performs any unskilled job at the fabrication shop.
• Reports any issues to supervisor or higher-level employee.

• Job training for this position is provided by department trainer.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Must be able to traverse construction sites by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
