The feeder is a production worker who places printed blanks/flat cartons into the machine to be formed and glued. The packer assembles cartons/product that have been formed and glued, inspecting them and packaging them for shipping according to predetermined counts and customer specifications.

• Housekeeping in the work area.
• Verify materials running on load.
• Feed according to operator instructions.
• Inspect for defects while feeding the machine.
• Maintain constant communication with the crew.
• Watch and listen for jams.
• Follow returns materials procedure.
• Check new corrugated for correct pack.
• Remove jams and restart the machine per operator instructions.
• Clean glue pots and machinery when necessary.
• Inspect cartons and pack according to specifications.
• Pack at a speed that keeps up with the machine.
• Ability to lift and move at least 75 cartons at a time.
• Inform the operator of any problems.
• Follow instructions and move materials according to established safety procedures.
• Ask questions when needed and maintain a positive attitude.
• Other duties as assigned (e.g., moving to different machines).

• Ability to read, understand and follow job jacket instructions.
• Knowledge of location and use of all safety devices in the area.
• Must be coordinated to perform the job safely and quickly.

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must have basic math skills.

• Must be able to tolerate repetitious work.
• Must be able to lift and handle at least 50 lbs.
• Must be able to keep up with machine speeds.
• Must be on your feet for long shifts (8–12 hours).
• Must not be colorblind.
• Must be able and willing to work any shift and overtime as requested.
