Process Technician (Plastics) - 2nd Shift / Night Shift
We are seeking a hands‑on, detail-oriented Process Technician with experience in plastics manufacturing to support and optimize production processes during our 2nd shift/night shift operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly on the production floor, troubleshooting equipment, and driving process improvements in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
In this position, you will be responsible for setting up, monitoring, and optimizing plastic manufacturing processes, including injection molding, blow molding, and/or extrusion. You will work closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure efficient, high-quality output during evening and overnight production hours.
Shift Details- 2nd Shift / Night Shift Position
- Evening and overnight hours required
- Overtime and occasional weekend coverage may be needed based on production demands
- Set up, start up, and optimize plastic processing equipment (injection molding, blow molding, and/or extrusion)
- Monitor machine performance throughout the shift and adjust process parameters to maintain quality and efficiency
- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to minimize downtime during production runs
- Perform mold/tooling changes, machine setups, and material changeovers
- Ensure product quality by conducting inspections and making necessary process adjustments
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput and reduce scrap
- Document process parameters, standard work, and operating procedures accurately for shift handoff communication
- Work closely with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve technical issues during off-shift operations
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow all safety, quality, and production standards
- 2-5+ years of experience in plastics manufacturing
- Strong understanding of plastic processing techniques and material behavior
- Experience with machine setup, process optimization, and troubleshooting
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, prints, and process documentation
- Basic mechanical aptitude (hydraulics, pneumatics, and equipment operation)
- Familiarity with continuous improvement practices (Lean, 5S, etc.) is a plus
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities during night shift operations
- Willingness to work in a hands‑on, fast‑paced production environment
