Ammonia Refrigeration​/Boiler Technician

Location: Sioux Falls, SD |
Schedule: Full-time, on-site, rotating 2-2-3 twelve hour night shift |
Compensation: $24-34/hour (approximately $24,000 to $34,000 annualized based on full-time hours)

An established food manufacturing operation is seeking an Ammonia Refrigeration/Boiler Technician to support plant maintenance and ensure safe, reliable operation of refrigeration and boiler systems. This role works alongside other maintenance personnel to keep critical equipment running and food safety standards upheld.

• Perform the duties of a Refrigeration/Boiler Technician and support other maintenance staff on shift
• Demonstrate strong safety leadership and follow safe work practices
• Work as part of a team to plan and conduct equipment repairs
• Conduct routine audits and equipment inspections
• Apply troubleshooting skills to resolve mechanical and system issues
• Maintain open, professional communication with operations staff
• Respond to unplanned or emergency work requests in a timely and effective manner
• Follow food safety and good manufacturing practices
• Work independently while staying highly motivated

• RETA certification (held or attainable)
• High school diploma or GED and 1+ years of related experience/training in industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing; or 4 years of direct experience in industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing maintenance
• Comprehensive knowledge in three or more of the following: RETA Certification, Ammonia Refrigeration, Engine & Boiler systems, Electricity & motor controls, Controls & instrumentation, PLC/software & hardware, Pneumatics & Hydraulics, Mechanical systems, Predictive/Preventive maintenance, Maintenance Planning, Site utilities, System analysis & troubleshooting, Pipe fitting & welding, Machining, Metal fabrication
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work independently
• Willingness to work a full-time, rotating night shift on a 2-2-3 twelve hour schedule

• $24-34/hour, approximately $24,000 to $34,000 annualized based on full-time hours
