Position: Advanced Practice Nurse  - Cardiology

Summary

The Sioux Falls VA Health Care System in Sioux Falls, SD is recruiting for (1) full‑time Advanced Practice Nurse – Cardiology within Specialty Care. The APN will be responsible for consultative services and developing treatment plans for the management of Veterans in outpatient, inpatient, Community Living Center, and emergency department settings. This is a continuous open announcement until April 30, 2026.

Qualified applicants will be considered and referred every two weeks until filled.

Duties
  • Advocate for a Whole Health System of care within the VA Midwest Health Care Network.
  • Empower and equip Veterans to take charge of their health and well‑being.
  • Create personalized health plans in a model featuring three core elements—seeking a comprehensive approach within the Veteran’s community.
  • Develop evaluations and treatment recommendations for patients with cardiovascular conditions.
  • Independently practice as an NP providing a full range of services utilizing treatment guidelines to deliver high‑quality care.
  • Lead delivery of care to assure continuity and peer accountability for practice, improving outcomes of the panel/program.
  • Assess, diagnose, treat, and evaluate care that promotes wellness and prevents disease, injury, and disability.
  • Order and/or interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies and procedures.
  • Consult and collaborate with physicians and other health‑care professionals to manage complex health problems.
  • Telework is ad‑hoc only.

  • Licensure: one full and unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory.
  • Work schedule:

    Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive salary with regular increases and potential for performance awards.
