Position: Registered Nurse (RN) | Rheumatology Clinic

Location and Working Hours

Avera Rheumatology Sioux Falls. Regular Work. Day Shift (United States).

Pay Range and Sign-on Bonus

Pay range: $27.75 - $41.25 per hour, depending on experience. Eligible for $3,000 sign‑on bonus and student loan repayment program ($167 per month, up to $10,000).

Job Summary

Responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients and families. Communicates with physicians and other healthcare team members to provide excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general nursing care to patients.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to nursing standards.
  • Coordinate patient care activities for the clinic.
  • Prepare equipment and assist provider during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing.
  • Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reactions.
  • Oversee appointment scheduling and manage emergency priorities.
  • Ensure timely flow of patients and maintain exam rooms with supplies.
  • Screen patients, obtain health history, take vitals, and conduct nursing assessments.
  • Document information in patient chart and instruct patients in sample collection.
  • Respond to patient phone calls in a timely manner.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnostics, medications, nutrition, and wellness.
  • Address patient care crisis problems and complaints.
  • Label pathology specimens and perform quality control of lab testing.
Essential Qualifications
  • Must be able to work specified hours.
  • Must perform each essential job function satisfactorily.
  • Visual acuity adequate for duties.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience

Registered Nurse (RN) – Board of Nursing. Active license in state of practice.
