Position: RN/LPN: Pediatric Private Duty Care - DAY/NIGHT SHIFTS NEEDED (Sioux Falls)

Position Overview

Family First Homecare is hiring compassionate RNs and LPNs to provide 1:1 pediatric private duty care for young clients in Sioux Falls and surrounding areas.

Locations and Schedule

Locations:
Brandon, Harrisburg, Sioux Falls.

Schedule:

Full-time, part-time and PRN hours. Up to 12 hour shifts. Weekdays, weekends, evenings. Start of Care:
Urgent / Immediate Client Needs.

Client Types and Care Services
  • Infant, toddler, teen, young adult clients
  • G-tube care
  • Tracheostomy (trach) care
  • Ventilator support
  • Medication administration
Requirements
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with current license
  • 1 year of demonstrated experience (including trach/ventilator encouraged)
  • Experience with G-tube feedings (training available)
  • Valid driver license with proof of insurance in applicable states
  • Clear background screening
  • Working knowledge of Nurse Practice Acts
  • Valid and current CPR card/certificate with in-person instructor‑led hands‑on skills check
  • Clear Hep B and TB screening (state requirements)
  • Strong communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Resilient, reliable and capable of maintaining a consistent schedule
Responsibilities
  • Accountable for providing care that is based on licensure/certification within the scope of practice.
  • Maintain an updated clinical record on each patient at all times, meeting required deadlines for documentation.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of nursing service to patient and family on an ongoing basis.
  • Consult with physicians regarding alterations of patient care plans, documentation of changes in patient care and report all changes to nurse supervisor.
  • Support FFHC’s mission by mentoring or coaching new employees during patient‑specific orientations.
  • Educate patients and their caregivers on topics related to care needs.
  • Participate in QAPI as requested.
  • Continually strive to improve nursing care skills.
  • Attend and complete all mandatory training/in‑services as assigned.
  • Submit required personnel file documentation in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to FFHC compliance and ethics expectations.
  • Maintain patient and family confidentiality.
  • Maintain professional and supportive interpersonal communication skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical/Working Conditions

Work performed in the patient’s home. Must lift up to fifty pounds without assisted device. Frequent use of office machines.

Compensation

The salary range is based on skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Bonuses may be available per compensation plan.
