A Brief Overview

Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis, establishing nursing care objectives, defining nursing interventions, and providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends to help them understand patient conditions, medications, and self‑care skills. Notes changing conditions and needs, re‑evaluates care objectives.

What You Will Do
  • Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other members of the healthcare team.
  • Coordinate with other healthcare providers and provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends.
  • Confere with physicians and develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, and documenting patient physical condition, psychological status, and influencing social factors.
  • Teach healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals and instructing patients and families to understand condition, medications, and self‑care skills.
  • Evaluate patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes, reviewing patient records, and re‑evaluating care objectives.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection‑control policies, medication administration and storage procedures, controlled substance regulations, and legal regulations.
  • Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
  • Keep patient care equipment operating by following operating instructions and troubleshooting breakdowns; maintain supplies and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Keep patient care supplies ready by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and stocking items.
  • Maintain competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership.
Essential Qualifications
  • Must be able to work the hours specified.
  • Must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily, including having visual acuity adequate for the position duties and the ability to communicate effectively.

    Education:

    Registered Nurse (RN) – Board of Nursing, active license in the state of practice upon hire.
  • Preferred Education/

    Experience:

    1–3 years experience working in a clinical environment.
