Location:
Avera McKennan Hospital, United States. Type: PRN.
Work Shift:
As Needed.
Provide medical care and treatment to obstetrical & gynecological patients and instruct patients in proper prenatal and postnatal practices and infant care.
Responsibilities- Provide medical services and health education to patients and family members.
- Effectively contribute to the health education of individuals and groups using appropriate methods.
- Consult and collaborate with physicians in assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to written protocols and appropriate licensing.
- Interpret diagnostic information and consult with physicians regarding abnormal findings to establish appropriate care plans.
- Ensure appropriate referrals are made for patients.
- Provide quality care for patients, demonstrating appropriate health, safety, and aseptic practices.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to environmental safety factors related to patient care.
- Provide patient instruction related to environment of care and safety standards.
- Practice according to approved protocols and licensing authorities.
- Support practice policies, procedures, goals, and standards.
- Maintain patient records and accurate information.
- Must be able to work the required hours specified.
- Must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily, including having adequate visual acuity, effective communication, hearing, understanding, and distinguishing speech and other sounds.
- Representative knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform essential functions.
- Master’s in Nurse Midwifery program.
- Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) – American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).
- Active state license in the state of practice.
- Upon hire:
Federal Drug Enforcement Administration – US Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration. - State and federal credentials based on state of practice.
