Position: RN/LPN: Pediatric Home Health, FLOAT NURSE (Sioux Falls area)

Overview

Family First Homecare is hiring compassionate RNs and LPNs to provide 1:1 pediatric private‑duty care for young clients in Sioux Falls and surrounding areas.

Location & Schedule

Locations:
Brandon, Chester, Harrisburg, Sioux Falls, Yankton and surrounding areas.

Schedule:

Full‑time, Part‑time and PRN hours; up to 12‑hour shifts; weekdays, weeknights and weekends.

Start of care: urgent / immediate client needs.

Client Types & Care Services
  • Infant, toddler, teen or young adult clients
  • G‑tube care
  • Tracheostomy (trach) care
  • Ventilator support
  • Medication administration
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience with trach and ventilator care encouraged but not required.
  • Comfortable managing G‑tube feedings (training may be available).
  • Reliable, attentive and committed to consistent scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
  • Accountable for providing care based on licensure/certification within scope of practice.
  • Maintain an updated clinical record on each patient at all times, meeting required deadlines.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing service to patient and family on an ongoing basis.
  • Consult with physicians concerning alterations of patient care plans, document changes and report all changes to the nurse supervisor.
  • Support FFHC’s mission by mentoring and coaching new employees during patient‑specific orientations.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on topics related to patients’ care needs.
  • Participate in FFHC Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement program (QAPI) as requested.
  • Continually strive to improve nursing care skills.
  • Attend and complete all mandatory training/in‑services as assigned.
  • Submit required personnel file documentation in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to FFHC compliance and ethics expectations, maintain patient and family confidentiality, and keep professional supportive communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Role Qualifications
  • LPN/LVN nursing degree.
  • Unencumbered LPN/LVN license in the state of employment or a Multi‑State license through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact where recognized.
  • Minimum 1 year of demonstrated experience.
  • Valid driver license with proof of insurance in applicable states.
  • Clear background screening.
  • Working knowledge of Nurse Practice Acts.
  • Valid CPR card/certificate with in‑person instructor‑led hands‑on skills check.
  • Clear Hepatitis B screening where applicable.
  • Clear TB screening where applicable.
Key Competencies
  • Ability to read and communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
Working Conditions / Equipment Use
  • Work performed in patients’ homes; not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Training may be performed in an office setting.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without an assisted lifting device.
  • Frequent use of office machines (telephone, computer, printer).
