Nurse Practitioner | Neonatal | PRN

Location

Avera McKennan Hospital. PRN, rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays (United States).

Provides appropriate medical care to all patients by assessing physical, psychological, and social dimensions of patients to develop a plan of care.

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients according to medical staff‑approved protocols and acceptable standards of practice.
• Provide medical services and health education to patients and family members.
• Contribute to the health education of individuals and groups and apply suitable methods to increase patient motivation and responsibility for their own health care.
• Consult and collaborate with physicians during assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Perform necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to written, approved protocols and appropriate licensing and administrative authorities.
• Interpret information gathered during the diagnostic process and consult with physicians regarding abnormal findings to establish an appropriate plan of care.
• Ensure appropriate referrals are made for patients.
• Deliver quality care, demonstrating appropriate health, safety, and aseptic practices.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to environmental safety factors related to patient care.
• Provide patient instruction related to the environment of care and safety standards.
• Contribute to the development and attainment of physician practice goals.
• Practice according to written, approved protocols and appropriate licensing and administrative authorities.
• Understand, apply, and support practice policies, procedures, goals, and standards.
• Maintain patient records and accurate information.

• Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) – National Certification Corporation (NCC)
• An active license in the state of practice (upon hire)
• Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) – Board of Nursing (upon hire)
• Registered Nurse (RN) – Board of Nursing (upon hire)
• An active license in the state of practice (upon hire)

• 2–3 years of Level III NICU experience
